That's a really significant difference. The stepped core itself uses internal turbulators to improve its cooling performance and the CFD optimised end tanks assist with maintaining the best possible airflow across the core. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWe offer two types of Intercooler for the N55 Fx cars. As well as this 'High Performance' version, we offer our 'Competition' unit, which uses Tube and Fin construction. We recommend this High Performance version for most road applications, as its higher mass (that's a good thing for an intercooler) gives greater thermal capacity for longer drives, and has the added benefit of being the cheaper option.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDue to the sheer size of this Bar and Plate core and a higher material ratio than our Competition core, this High Performance unit tips the scale at 11kg, but ultimately still provides the best solution possible when consistent power output and low air charge temperatures are required. Our development focussed on finding the 'sweet spot' of maximum IAT cooling versus minimum pressure loss.
