Exoracing Magnetic Sump Plug Installation Guide:

Our Exoracing magnetic sump plugs are very simple and easy to install; follow our guide below for the best practices:

1. Firstly, you will want to ensure the engine oil is warm but not hot, as this will allow you to remove the most oil and contaminants possible.
2. Jack or lift the car, using a ramp or trolley jack, making sure to use axle stands for safety.
3. Remove the old sump plug and drain the excess oil into a pan or drainage container. Also, remove the oil filter simultaneously, as you may change this while you're here.
4. Once all the old oil has been drained, install a brand new oil filter and the new magnetic sump plug, making sure to use the newly supplied crush washer.
5. Torque the magnetic drain plug to 15 ft/lb, remove the axle stands and lower the car back down.
6. Fill the engine to the correct line using brand-new oil, and let the car run for a few minutes.
7. Recheck the oil level and ensure no leaks from the oil filter or magnetic sump plug.

Does it include a crush washer?

Yes, the Exoracing magnetic sump plug includes an aluminium crush washer. We recommend using a fresh crush washer whenever the sump plug is removed and refitted.

What torque should I use?

Torque to 15 ft/lb maximum. Do not over-tighten, as this can damage the plug or sump threads.
