Bedding In Procedure
Bedding In for PAGID STREET+ Brake Pads After installing new brake discs and pads, it is essential to bed in the friction surfaces. This ensures they adapt properly to one another for safe and optimal brake performance. If not bedded in correctly, uneven material transfer between the pad and disc or uneven distribution of deposits may occur, potentially leading to vibrations or noise issues. Warranty is voided for all pads exhibiting symptoms of not being bedded in correctly. Guidelines During the bedding-in period, please follow these guidelines: Caution: Avoid excessive braking as this can overheat the friction material too quickly, causing the brake pad surface to glaze over and reduce braking performance. Perform the procedure on safe sections of road where these maneuvers can be conducted safely. Allow time between braking to gradually heat the brakes and avoid thermal shock. Start with gentle and cautious braking from a maximum speed of 50 km/h. Follow up with several braking procedures from medium speeds, allowing cooling time between cycles. For the first 300 km, drive moderately and avoid unnecessary hard or continuous braking.
