The COMPETITION INTERCOOLER KIT for BMW F80-82-83-87 M2/M3/M4 is designed to deliver the best performance for the S55 engine. With slight adjustments inside the hood, it also fits the BMW M2 Competition. The 3.0-litre S55B30 turbo engine in BMW M2 Competition, M3, and M4 models is equipped with an indirect charge-air cooling circuit. This high-performance intercooler replaces the stock water-cooled intercooler, providing superior cooling for charged air.
The Wagner Tuning high-performance intercooler features a new competition core (Tube Fin) with external core dimensions of 287 mm x 185 mm x 115 mm (11.3 inches x 7.3 inches x 4.5 inches). This core was developed specifically for the high demands of the S55 engine, offering 114% more external core volume compared to the stock intercooler. The calculated ratio between the inner and outer cooling surfaces ensures maximum heat transfer and optimal internal airflow.
The aluminium cast end tanks are designed using CAD and optimised through CFD simulations, resulting in excellent cooling properties with minimal back pressure. This makes the kit perfect for racing use, providing optimal cooling of charged air and a significant increase in performance. All Wagner Tuning intercoolers come with a heat-conductive anti-corrosion coating to ensure lasting cooling effects. The plug & play installation is simple and straightforward, with installation instructions included.
